Guest Speaker: Steve August Founder & Director New England Ruffnecks on September 18, 2014
In November 2013, construction began on the 30-acre, $20 million+, state-of-the-art New England baseball complex at the junction of Route 20 and Route 9 in Northborough.
The complex will be the new home of the New England Ruffnecks Baseball program, a college development program for baseball players 13U to 18U founded in 2003 by Steve August, the organization's director and a former assistant general manager of the Boston Red Sox. The Ruffnecks are widely regarded as one of the top programs of its kind in the United States. When fully completed, the facility will feature three full-size, fully lighted, synthetic turf baseball diamonds, sports-themed shops, and medical offices.
Join us on September 18th to hear from Steve August and learn how this complex will enhance the Corridor Nine region as a formidable destination.
Race Deadline is Approaching!
For the last 20 years, the Corridor Nine Chamber has organized a very successful 5k Road Race in September in conjunction with the Town of Northborough's Applefest celebration. This race has grown into a well-known tradition in Northborough attracting runners from all over the Central Massachusetts region.
This year's race is scheduled for September 20th. The start and finish of the race is held at the Zeh School, 33 Howard Street, in Northborough.
We attract 300-500 runners annually and the race is professionally timed and scored by Yankee Timing.
